Google was just coming on the scene when I had been working for about a year for a non-profit Internet Service Provider that was helping individuals and non-profit organizations get a jump on the "information highway".
During my first year and over the next few years, we connected thousands of individuals and hundreds of non-profit groups to the Internet. We also provided training in how to use the few search engines available then, web site development, and how the Internet could be used to build community.
You can hardly find a web page that doesn't have at least one tidy little Ads by Google box (like the ones here at website-writer.com), or the Sponsored Links list from Yahoo — strategically placed just as the ads in magazines and newspapers are placed to catch the typical direction of a reader's eyes as they scan and then decide to stop on printed text.
Ad positioning on a page is one thing that is fairly easily transferred from print communications to web communications. The ad writing and the copy writing that surrounds the ads — from the writing style right down to the specific choice of one word over another — are not as easily transferred, if you want people to find you, and then use your products or your services.
And today, community building translates into website marketing strategy
.As a website content provider, I'm a writer who understands how people typically look for and then read, or don't read, what you offer. This understanding, and my ability to translate it into compelling web content, was gained through my experience with teaching thousands of people, many of whom were ESL learners, how to browse and search the Internet, and a research and writing record that spans the transition we've seen from print to online media over the past ten years.

I'm also a writer who understands how search engines work and how they deliver web site rankings, and I have written and edited dozens of profitable consumer information websites built around search engine optimization and marketing potential.
Some of those websites continue to earn revenues in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, years after launch.
The sample writing topics above are intended to give you an indication of the range of subjects I have written about. I do not provide links here to specific sites that I wrote or edited because web publishing clients regularly revise and update their content, and I want to ensure that you are referred to the original content I submitted. I will, of course, provide samples of my original submissions to prospective clients as our discussions progress.
I do not claim to be a Search Engine Optimization or Marketing Expert, or even a Web Designer, although I have designed website-writer.com and other sites. What I do offer is a very well rounded and fundamental grasp of both search engine strategy and end-user perspective, combined with excellent research and writing skills that I can adapt to your website visitors, your voice, and whatever your product, service or story is.
Add to all of that an impressive record in project planning and management in the public, private and non-profit sectors, and you have a web content provider who can:
