The Website Writer's Bio

I graduated with an Honours BA in Law and Society and Sociology in 1990. Prior to and throughout my university study years, I worked part-time and full-time in retail and administrative positions, including employment with law firms and labour arbitrators. Following my university education, I went on to work as a Special Assistant to various Cabinet Ministers of the Ontario provincial government.

In 1995, I bought a one-way ticket to England, intending nothing more than a short break in the UK and Greece for a couple of months, and continued onward for the next nineteen months through Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

On my return to Canada, I "landed" right back into the political scene, this time into a federal election campaign and subsequent temporary employment with the Federal Member of Parliament for Vancouver East, Libby Davies.

Moving on to work with a non-profit Internet Provider, Vancouver Community Network, I also took on coordination of a few projects for a Seniors' Community Centre. In many of the positions I held, I worked with, mentored and recruited many people struggling with speaking and writing in English as newcomers to Canada.

In 2002, I relocated back to Toronto, following six months of living in Mexico and traveling through the States and Canada. Since then, I have been providing a range of services for non-profits, political campaigns and consumer information web publishers. I also completed the 12-week classroom portion of a TESL Canada certified Teaching English as a Second Language course to enhance my experience in working with and mentoring ESL Learners.

I have also developed a website to share my passion for round-the-world adventures in food and travel, called The Recipe for Travel, and I'm developing an online shop featuring my travel photos on various writing and home decor items.

With my background in public policy, legislative research, non-profit and project management, and website writing for community and consumer information portals, I am highly qualified to meet your website development, marketing and writing needs.
